There are a variety of activities available to children at Healing House to promote therapeutic play, including art materials, musical instruments, a punching bag, puppets, and costumes. The groups are also a chance for kids to interact with others who have experienced a death of someone close to them.
Groups are facilitated by caring volunteers who are specifically trained to observe, listen and respond appropriately to a grieving child.
An adult must accompany a child during the duration of group: he/she may join the adult support group or enjoy quiet time on the front porch or lounge.
Services are free of charge to families. Healing House is funded by donations from individuals, foundations and grants.
